Questions About Preparing Your Business for an Exit?
Still deciding?
A 30-minute discovery session is the simplest way to understand where your business stands.
What is the 24-Month Exit Blueprint?
A structured exit-planning engagement. We assess your readiness across the business, your personal finances and your goals, measure your value gap, and sequence the work that builds transferable value over 24 months.
When should I begin preparing to sell my business?
Ideally two to three years before you want to exit. The work that moves value most, such as reducing owner dependence, cleaning up financials and strengthening management, takes several quarters to show up in your numbers.
What does the Blueprint include?
Every package includes a current valuation and needs assessment, a tax, financial and personnel review, key performance indicator analysis, a 24-month Blueprint with quarterly reviews, and referrals to the CPA, attorney or wealth advisor you may need.
Can I sell my business independently?
Yes. The Blueprint prepares you to sell on your own if you prefer. If you would rather we take the business to market, your Blueprint fees are credited toward the success fee at closing.
Is the $99 discovery-session fee credited toward services?
Yes. The $99 discovery-session fee is credited in full toward any Pace Consulting engagement you purchase.
How do I get started?
Reserve a 30-minute discovery session for $99, or send a confidential inquiry and we will follow up personally.
Will every business achieve the same valuation or outcome?
No. Value depends on your earnings, your industry, market conditions and how transferable your business is. We do not promise a price or multiple; we show you what drives yours and how to improve it.
What is the value gap?
The difference between what your business is worth today and what it needs to be worth to fund your life after the sale. Measuring it early tells you how much work there is to do and how long it will take.
What is transferable value?
The part of your company’s value that stays with the business when you step away. Buyers pay more for a company that runs on its management team, systems and customer relationships rather than on the owner.
Frequently asked
Timing, valuation, packages, and expectations
Each answer explains what to expect without promising a particular sale price or outcome.
Timing
How far ahead should planning begin?
Starting about 24 months in advance gives time to address operational dependencies, financial records, and buyer questions before a transition is considered.
Valuation
Does readiness change valuation?
Readiness makes your value more defensible. Recast financials, lower owner dependence and documented systems reduce the risk a buyer prices in, which supports a stronger multiple. It does not guarantee a specific price.
Packages
What do the advisory packages include?
Packages are priced by revenue: $4,500 for businesses up to $10M, $6,500 up to $20M and $10,000 over $40M. Each lists its deliverables and milestones in writing before you engage.
Expectations
What should I expect from the process?
You will move through Assess, Analyze, Improve, Prepare, and Negotiate, with a clear next step at each stage and no guaranteed outcome.
